Mac ro s hooting mode Macro mode works at its optimum when the s ubject is as clos e as 7.1 inches (18cm), whereas S uper Macro mode has a fixed focus ing dis tance, s o you can get as clos e as 2.6 inches (6cm) to your s ubject. Thes e features let you take even greater control of your photography. The 7-point autofocus s etting lets you capture your s ubjects eas ily, even when they are not in the center of the frame. When you're ready to s hoot, pres s the s hutter releas e button s lightly, and the autofocus frame will identify the area upon which the s hot will be focus ed. S pot AF S pot AF enables you to s elect a s pecific point for s harp focus from any of 49 locations within the frame, including in corners . Manual foc us L C D monitor The high-res olution, 1.6 inch LC D monitor helps you compos e pictures by showing the subject, and check images you have just captured. Nine-image dis play and Zoom dis play The manual focus function on the Optio S 4 allows you to adjus t the focus as you wis h. P rior to taking the picture, you can confirm your focus by viewing an enlarged image on the LC D s creen. White balanc e mode Us e white balance mode for adapting to the various natural lighting conditions you may encounter. In addition to an automatic s etting, there are daylight, s hade, and indoor lighting (tungs ten and fluores cent) options . There is als o a manual setting that gives you the freedom to experiment.
